A good quote

I've been looking for this quote. I found it on this site, via this site's blogroll.

To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

Theodore Roosevelt.

If now, during a national crisis, is not a good time to question the president, or any authority in power for that matter, when is a good time? When there's nothing to question? If you question the president when he's on vacation and not doing anything, you're partisan. If you question the president when his legislative goals differ from yours, you're partisan. If you question the president on his actions after a crisis, you're partisan.

Apparently you're never supposed to question authority. How convenient for those in power.
